Players shift back and forth between different lanes at the touch of a button (you can use the touchscreen as well, but your best bet is probably using either the shoulder buttons or a combination of a shoulder button and a face button). To be clear, the mechanics in this game are fantastic. So this game looks amazing and sounds amazing, and of course the next question is, does it play amazing? The answer to that is… only if you are a real masochist. For some good examples to what to expect, check out City and Miami. The game’s 80s-style electronica themes are not only perfectly-suited for the game’s theme, but they’re really catchy as well. What’s more, it’s an absolute delight to listen to as well. This game is an absolute delight to watch.

Yet despite that there’s nothing about this that’s meant to look realistic, it is still full of nice little touches, like light trails being left by your tail lights, the world around you constantly shifting to new variations on its central theme. The presentation in this game is phenomenal - the screen comes alive with color, with everything looking like an 80s-style computer-generated pseudo-futuristic cityscape. This game was first released in 2015 on mobile devices, and later ported to other platforms, making its way to the Nintendo Switch in 2019.
Neon Drive is a Music-Rhythm game with Arcade Racing elements where players drive a car on an abstract 80s-style neon highway and must dodge obstacles, often to the timing of the game’s music.
